Special in Someone’s Eyes Can a mother forget her nursing child? Can she feel no love for the child she has borne? But even if that were possible, I would not forget you! —Isaiah 49:15
When our granddaughter Olivia was about a year old, she said her first sentence. It was short, but it was powerful: “See me!” Her tiny arms raised in the air, she would clamor for attention, to be picked up, to be loved. We heard these words a lot at that stage in her life because it produced for her the desired results. Don’t we all, no matter our age or position in life, have that same need to be noticed, to be appreciated for who we are? Our unspoken plea is: Don’t pass me by! Don’t ignore me! Don’t forget me! Each of us needs to feel important, even special, to at least one other person in order to be whole. The good news is that there is Someone who regards you every moment of your life—and He thinks you are very special. He is always with you, will never abandon you, and is downright crazy about you, His very special child. What more could you ask of your Father than this?
