We’re a Temple Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you? —1 Corinthians 3:16
Have you ever thought of yourself as a temple of God? Recently, my wife got angry at me about something and yelled a little. I stopped her and said, “Do you know who I am?” She stared at me. “My husband?” “No, I am the temple of God.” She stared a little longer, then laughed. “I guess that’s because you’re a Christian.” “Correct.” “So I’m one too?” “Right. But I said it first. So it only really counts with me.” She laughed. It’s a powerful truth. We are temples where God lives and enjoys us, leads us, speaks to us, loves us. God wants us to love each other, because He put His stamp of love on each of us through living in us. Now I tell myself to remember, when I cross paths with another Christian, I’m seeing someone in whom God dwells, and he deserves all the respect, love, and consideration I give to God.
Since you are a temple of God, you should love like one too. — Mark Littleton —
