Let’s Talk Turkey The seeds of good deeds become a tree of life; a wise person wins friends. —Proverbs 11:30
That special dinner I planned isn’t going to work!” I told my prayer partner of many years. “Why?” “My entire family’s coming. That’s four adults and three kids. Our single neighbor and my husband’s brother are coming, as well as Adri and her mom. I also invited our friend— now she’s bringing five more people! I invited you, and you want to bring four more! That’s twenty-four people! I don’t have room enough for everyone. The last time I had a big meal like this, I was so busy that I missed enjoying the whole dinner!” “Would it help if I don’t come and don’t bring my family?” “But you’re baking the turkey. I don’t have oven space to pull all of this off.” “I can still bake the turkey and bring it over.” “You’d do that for me?” “Yes, because I love you.” Not only did she bring over the turkey, but she also came over afterward and helped clean up!
