Real Life and Love It is through faith that a righteous person has life. —Galatians 3:11
I tried to love people when I was an unbeliever. But it was difficult. It seemed I only saw their faults and the things that irritated me. Then I became a Christian and God changed me. And God sent me one of the people I found hardest to love—a guy named Bob who worked at the ski lodge where I was an instructor and short-order cook. Bob was arrogant. He used people, including me. He put others down constantly. And he accused me of being condescending when I told him about my faith in Christ. I wanted to avoid him, but I had to work with him. I prayed about him constantly. Then one day he rushed into the kitchen, terrified that some guy wanted to kill him because he’d stolen the guy’s girlfriend. We worked together that afternoon, and I told him why I didn’t fear people like I used to. He listened, accepted Christ, and became a good friend after that. Some people are hard cases. You think you’ll never have any influence. And then one day, everything changes. Love breaks through. And you and they are never the same again.
Show love; you’ll be surprised what God can do through you. — Mark Littleton —
