Love and Prayers But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit. —Jude 1:20

Jeanette, has your father come to Christ yet?” David asked as he did each time he saw me. I looked into David’s dark brown eyes. This man who lived in a group home visited our ministry several times a week. He was shy and had slight mental issues, but he loved people and God, and he loved to pray. He constantly asked our staff for prayer requests, and then he went to a corner of our building and prayed. David’s memory for these prayer needs was amazing. “No, David. Dad hasn’t come to Christ,” I answered. “I began praying for him September 28, 1980,” David murmured, mentioning the date from years earlier. “I’ll keep praying.” And I knew he would. I’d lost touch with David for a couple of decades when Dad finally came to Christ—weeks before he died. Not long after that, by chance I saw David’s obituary in the newspaper too. “He came to Christ, David,” I whispered. “But I guess you’ve probably already met him. Thank you for praying.”

Love prays for others—as long as the prayers are needed. — Jeanette Gardner Littleton —
