More Than Enough For your love for me is very great. You have rescued me from the depths of death. —Psalm 86:13
I fell on the bed crying, “God help me! Am I ever going to be loved by my husband? All we seem to do is fight.” Feeling frustrated and hurt, I poured out my complaint before the Lord. A small voice whispered from deep within, “Probably not, but I will be more than enough for you.” God’s answer was not what I expected. I asked, “Excuse me, but did I hear you correctly?” The stillness in my spirit assured me: God had spoken. I had never been so conscious of God’s presence. All I could do was lie on the bed and worship Him, because I knew He was with me. The sweetness of His love overwhelmed me, as He quieted all my fears. For thirty-five years, God’s amazing grace has made it possible for my husband and me to live at peace with each other. He has given me great love for my husband, and God’s love has sustained me at the times when my husband’s could not. The Lord has been more than enough.
