Heart Rocks From the ends of the earth, I cry to you for help when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the towering rock of safety. —Psalm 61:2

While taking my daily walk on a nearby rock road, I noticed a rock in the shape of a heart. I picked it up. I knew my daughter would be fascinated with it too, and looked for one for my son. I searched for days but could find no “heart rock.” A few weeks later, while walking the same road, I saw a “heart rock” the size of my hand. Where was it a few weeks earlier when I was looking so fervently? I wondered. God’s responding message to me seemed to be, “Trust my heart. Take this rock to remind you that I am with you.” For three months I have been finding “heart rocks”—more than a hundred so far. Some of them look freshly chiseled; some are well worn. But each serves as a reminder that the Rock of all ages is fighting for me, and He will bring me through my battles victoriously.

We can lean on God who is our rock, our salvation, and our fortress. — Debra R. Stacey —
