Postal Requirement Treat them like native-born Israelites, and love them as you love yourself. Remember that you were once foreigners living in the land of Egypt. I am the Lord your God. —Leviticus 19:34

There she stood waiting until I spoke—a fashionably dressed Sudanese woman with tears welling her eyes. Brightly I greeted her. “Hello, Ashol!” In barely understandable English, this wife of a former ambassador to Lebanon exclaimed, “I need help!” “Ashol, I’m glad to assist you,” I replied to my newest Christian friend. She explained, “I’ve tried to pay bills for three days—the postman won’t pick up; I got call—my electricity and phone being shut off.” She extended two addressed envelopes. The corners were bare. “Oh, Ashol, you need stamps.” I reached into my purse, handed her one, and affixed the other one myself. On next glance, I realized she had placed her stamp in the center of the envelope. Knowing she was still near tears, pen in hand, I quickly drew an arrow from the stamp to the upper right hand corner of the envelope. While I walked with her the half block to the post office,

Ashol smiled broadly. “God blessed me today with your care and friendship.”
