He Only Has Eyes for You If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? —Matthew 18:12 niv

Each year my husband, Steve, and I attend a convention for his work. The opening night of the convention features a reception for about four hundred members and spouses. My husband is much more the social butterfly than I am, so one year I asked him to go early and I would meet him there. Arriving late, I realized I might have difficulties finding him in the crowd. As I stepped through the door, my eyes scanned the ballroom. In the midst of all the people, I spotted him. By the time I found him, Steve was already looking at me. He had found me first. It was as if no one else were in the entire room. The same is true of God and you. Even though there are more than six billion people in the world, it’s as if He only has eyes for you. In Matthew, Jesus says that one lost sheep is more important to Him than a crowd. God loves people, and He loves them individually.

God loves you—as a person and as a unique individual. — Susan Campbell —
