Boldly Loved Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. —John 13:34
The day after my husband died, I was frantically preparing for our son’s arrival from an overseas deployment when a church member stopped by. “Brenda, I can’t visit right now,” I explained, “Dan’s coming and . . .” Pushing past me, she said, “You have tons to do, right? That’s why I came.” Without hesitating, Brenda started washing a sink full of dirty dishes. Next, she made my beds with fresh linens. Then she asked, “Where’s your vacuum?” When I told her I had to leave to pick up my son at the airport, she announced, “I won’t let you make that long drive alone.” Within minutes, she had another church member waiting out front to take me. “Now, go with Judy,” Brenda insisted, wrapping me in a hug, “and don’t worry. I’ll take care of the housework.” When my son and I arrived home, exhausted and grieving, we were greeted by an immaculate house, flowers on the table, and a blessing still lingering in the air . . . the comfort of being
loved.
Love boldly. Let people know they’re not struggling alone. — Laura L. Bradford —
