Let It Go! In that day the wolf and the lamb will live together; the leopard will lie down with the baby goat. The calf and the yearling will be safe with the lion, and a little child will lead them all. —Isaiah 11:6
Mom! Dana and Kristen went to the mall without me! And it was my idea in the first place.” My preteen daughter tried to stem the tears brimming in her eyes. My jaw clenched. It wasn’t the first time they’d done this. No one hurts my girl and gets away with it! The next day they knocked on the front door. “Is Lindsay home?” they asked, sweet smiles on their angelic faces. “Lindsay!” I hollered, and left them standing there as I turned and marched into the kitchen. The three of them spoke quietly in the foyer for a while before Lindsay came to ask, “Can Dana and Kristen stay for lunch?” “After what they did?” I retorted heatedly. “No!” “Mom, they’re sorry, and well . . . if I can let it go . . . can’t you?” How do you like that? There I sat, holding a grudge while Lindsay’s actions reflected the heart of God. “Of course,” I replied sheepishly, cheeks pink with embarrassment. “The girls are welcome to join us.”
