Meatloaf Blessing Don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “ For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” —2 Corinthians 9:7

The aroma of meatloaf from the backseat permeated my car, giving me heartburn in more ways than one. Stopping at the white frame house, I sighed. After contributing four meals of mercy in two weeks, my spirit grumbled—enough is enough. With a plastered smile, I carried the meatloaf and marched to the door of this woman recently home from surgery. She tried to smile back at me. The right side of her face was horribly distorted, one scar still raw with healing. Then I recalled that this was the latest of several surgeries for cancerous tumors. Seeing the meatloaf, the left side of her face lit with radiance. She praised God for all His goodness. Humbled, I was suddenly filled with a renewed spirit—the privilege of being God’s ambassador of blessing. I had almost missed it! I will never again think about meatloaf without remembering God’s special lesson.

A grace-filled attitude is a blessing to everyone—even yourself. — Patricia L. Stebelton —
