A Little Prayer Warrior Finally, dear brothers and sisters, we ask you to pray for us. Pray that the Lord’s message will spread rapidly and be honored wherever it goes. —2 Thessalonians 3:1
I pray for you every night!” These were the words penned to me by an eight-year-old girl. She had sent her note as part of a care package from several members of my church. I taped her letter on the wall in my bedroom in the remote northern region of Kenya, where I lived. Every day as I prepared to go out into the community, which was dominated by Islam, I would read her note and find encouragement. It is a humbling thing to find out that someone so young whom you barely know is praying for you and your ministry regularly. It changes your heart. It makes you want to get out of bed and face each day, whatever may come. It keeps you going back to serve those who are hard to love. It reminds you that you are there to love. The prayers of that little one made a difference in my ministry, and they reminded me that I was loved too!
Writing a note or praying a prayer for someone is a powerful expression of love. — Laura Chevalier —
