Small Blessings But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. —Galatians 5:22–23

As usual, it was late Sunday night and I had just started my laundry. With all of the time spent practicing softball and studying, laundry was simply the last thing on my to-do list. Because of the loud noise the dryers made, in between loads I jogged back and forth from my dorm room, studying for a test. On my fourth trip back to the laundry room, I found my clothes already neatly folded and organized. Petting my freshly cleaned sweatpants in shock, my fingertips ruffled a piece of paper loose from the pant leg. I opened it, chuckling at the small smiley face looking back at me. Instantly, I picked up a sweater from a stranger’s pile of clothes next to mine and began to fold. Since that time, I’ve asked the Lord to help me appreciate the small blessings He has given through those around me. I’ve asked Him to help me not only be thankful for those He has placed in my life, but also to be a blessing in their lives.
